Wii U Order: Submitted ?? and other online store questions

Hey! Thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully answer my questions.

On Thursay night, the 18th, I ordered a refurbished Wii U from Nintendo's online store. It's been two days and it's making me nervous, as the order status is still listed as submitted. I picked the standard shipping, so that may be it, but I'd like some confirmation.

I also would like to note that I haven't confirmed my registration for the account yet, and when I attempted to tonight, it gave me an error and also gave me Nintendo's customer service number (which is now closed). I planned on calling anyway to make sure there wasn't a problem with my order, but now there is something else to call about.

I had some other questions, too, if you can answer them.

Does it normally take this long for an order to be processed?

If my account is not confirmed, will it keep my Wii U from being delivered?

How reliable is the order check?

How long does an order usually take to be shipped, and where is it shipped from?

Thanks in advance! All answers are appreciated!

Yes, according to Nintendo. I'll quote the info from that link.

Disc drive error (code 160-1400)

So tonight I booted up my Wii U to encounter this message:

error.jpg

For about two weeks, I haven't even accessed the game in the disc drive (Smash Bros); I've just been playing Splatoon, which I downloaded from the eShop. I've had no issue prior to this error message; this is completely out of the blue.

I've tried unplugging, powering on/off, starting up in Wii Mode, holding down the eject button, and every other proposed remedy for this error that I've found online. When I boot up the system, the disc drive doesn't even seem to sound like it's running - the fan seems to be the only thing that starts up, though I may be wrong about this. Any attempts to eject the disc seem to get no response, so my copy of Smash Bros is stuck in there and I have this message no matter what I do.

Is there any way to force a disc eject or otherwise fix this problem without sending it in to Nintendo? I've tried all the possible troubleshooting listed on the site and most forums and nothing seems to be getting me anywhere. I'm very hesitant to send this in to Nintendo, seeing as how my $70 game is stuck inside, and I'd really rather not be without this thing for the better part of my summer, but I'm not sure what to do at this point. Anyone have any insights?

I don't have a Wii U, so I can't say for sure, but sometimes on electronics with disc drives (like computers) there's a small hole that has the diameter of about what a paper clip's is. If you see one anywhere near the disc drive, unplug the Wii U and make sure there is no power going to it, then bend a paper clip straight and stick it in with light pressure. The disk tray should then open.

This is all if there is a hole, though.

Both the standard and family editions of the Nintendo Wii console and the Nintendo Wii U use a disc slot which pulls the game disc into the system, not a disc tray which pops out, so such a method cannot be used on either of these systems.

Wii U won't recognize external hard drive

Recently, my Wii U ran out of storage space, so it was time to set up an external hard drive. What I have is a device that you can use a standard hard drive as an external one, with external power and USB 2.0. No matter what I try, the Wii U will not notice the drive, even though a pc can find it easily. The power is on, it is firmly connected, but it just won't work.

Recover data from my USB device.

Hi.

I'm experiencing some issues with my USB device and my Wii U.

I have all my data, saved games, downloaded games, etc in my USB HDD (Toshiba, the one listed in the Nintendo official page).

The problem is that I had to factory reset the Wii U, now, the USB device is not being recognized, the Wii U says that I must format the device, but by doing so, I will lose my data.

How can I recover my data?

How can I make Wii U recongnizes that the USB device was formated by it before factory reset?

Regards

Unfortunately, this is the equivalent of trying to insert a usb into another wii u. Since you had to format your wii u, it doesn't recognize your usb device anymore, since it's gone back to it's original factory status. Even though it has wii u memory on it, the system thinks it's data from another system, since it has a specific, "system imprint," on it. You should still have your games available for redownload if you re-enter your NNID, but there's not much chance of getting back save game data. Try contacting a Nintendo support Rep., sorry.
