Wii u gamepad problems

My wii u gamepad is having problems. When i go to turn on the gamepad it runs perfectly, is responsive, and can be used to play games; the only problem is that the screen goes through a series of images in order and will not display the what it is supposed to. The game pad cycles through an all red screen, an all blue screen, an all green screen, checkered screen, black screen, white screen, and a black to white faded screen as well as a black and white box screen. These screens are the only thing that will show on the gamepad screen but i can still use the touchscreen and play games as if it were running perfectly. PLEASE HELP

This is a replacement for the HDMI cable that is included with the  Wii U console. It used to connect your Wii U to a  television with an  HDMI port.

HDMI Cable (Wii U) - Nintendo Canada store.

https://store.nintendo.com/ng3/ca/po/browse/productDetailColorSizePicker.jsp?productId=prod10493

---

1 ) i look at the screenshot in the first post, and i see that the tv screen seem burned.

Then did that display problem, is only with the Wii U connected to that tv ? Or when others things connected to that tv, also made that display problem ?

2 ) Maybe, ... between first use of your Wii U Nintendo Console, and when you got it back, you use a new "Power Bar, or a new "Power Strips", or a new "Extensions Cords", or "too much thing connected to the same wall power outlet".

Then try to connect your Wii U power supply, directly to the wall outlet.

3 ) Wii U graphics hadrware overheating issue, can made display problem(s).

Re: BIG PROBLEM!! can't change HDMI settings because gamepad won't sync!

I have the exact same problem, having switched TVs at the same time I got my gamepad back from being repaired and therefore unable to sync. I went to try it with AV cables and it didn't work. I went to a bit of trouble to set it up on another HDMI compatible TV with a different screen size, but I'm getting exactly the same issue! Both cables have been tested in the last few days as well as the console. I can't send it in to get fixed because it's a technical oversight and nothing is broken, but neither is it possible to be fixed, so far as I can tell. I can't get a real person on the phone and I'm freaking out because unless you found a solution, my perfectly functional Wii U is now somehow useless due to a technical oversight.

Just Purchased Wii U - Question about Transfer

So, just bought the Mario Maker Edition, excited for it.

My big question is related to the system transfer.  I've read and understand the process.  Pretty confident I can handle that.

My major concern is that we're using an SD card already to store game data on the wii.  There's not enough system memory to hold all of the games we've purchased.

My understanding is that the system transfer is a one-and-done affair, and can't be repeated.  So how am I supposed to transfer all my games if I don't have enough initial space on the Wii to house all the games I've purchased?  (BIG virtual console nut, lot of N64 purchases)

Or does the transfer actually transfer purchases over so that I can just redownload them all to my Wii U?

Will there be games I CANT transfer over?  I've looked at the list of available titles, and some of my games like Ogre Battle (SNES AND N64) aren't available for purchase on the Wii U.

Your networks firewall might be blocking multiplaying. Try turning firewall off, and if that doesnt work I dont know what is causing your problem

Yes. Like all Nintendo home consoles in the past, the Wii U console is region-locked, so a PAL region Wii U system will only play PAL region Wii U and Wii games. The Wii U eShop of a PAL region console would also match whatever currency is used for the location you set over there, not American dollars. You likely would also need a converter for the AC Adapter, as the PAL region and North America use different voltages.

When performing a Nintendo Wii to Nintendo Wii U System Transfer, all of your Nintendo Wii content, including your Wii Shop Channel account, will be transferred to your Wii U's Wii Mode. The availability of a Virtual Console game on the Wii U's Wii Mode or Wii Shop Channel has no bearing on the Wii U side of the system, save for the fact you can get discounts on Wii U Virtual Console games that you also have on your Wii U's Wii Mode. As for the matter of the System Transfer process being a one-and-done affair, as you put it, it's more like one-and-done per console with those particular settings and information.

As for the matter of keeping all of your downloadable games and save data due to a lack of room on the SD Card...well, you can't really if you have lots of downloaded games, but there is a way, so let me explain.

See, the games from both Nintendo's WiiWare service and Virtual Console service are separated into two pieces: Channel Data and Save Data. The Channel Data is the actual game itself, but the Save Data, as the name implies, is the save data for the game in question. If you want to keep all of your save data for your downloadable games, when you are preparing for the System Transfer, delete the Channel Data for the download games until you have enough room. By deleting the Channel Data and keeping the Save Data, you're preserving your progress in your games in a matter of only a few blocks, compared to a few blocks for saving data and up to a few hundred for the game itself. There is one catch though, and that is that your save data must be stored in the Wii System Memory in order to be preserved, not the SD Card, before the System Transfer process starts. Unless you have manually moved the save data though, it should almost all be stored on the Wii System Memory already.

Once the System Transfer process is complete, you'll be able to re-download the Channel Data from the Wii Shop Channel for the game.

If you've done all of that and there's still not enough room in your System Memory, then maybe you might need to look at backing up save data for retail games you have that support the feature on another SD Card, or as a final extreme measure, perhaps simply lose a bit of save data on some of your games.

Finally, as for the matter of content that can't be transferred, this basically amounts to channels that already exist on the Wii U in some form, such as Hulu Plus, Netflix, and the Internet Browser.

If you need more help, Nintendo has this handy step-by-step guide on the System Transfer process.

I was beginning to get the impression I was correct on that, so thank you.

So even if I don't have enough room for all my virtual console / wii ware games on the SD card, I can redownload them from the Wii Shop Channel while in Wii Mode?  That's a big relief if that's the case.

Yes, your Wii Shop Channel licenses will be transferred to the Wii U's Wii Mode Wii Shop Channel, so you'll have access to them as if you had originally purchased them on the Wii U's Wii Mode originally. As stated though, you need to make sure your Save Data for your downloaded games is stored on the Wii System Memory itself in order to preserve it. Any save data that is not on the Wii System Memory before the System Transfer is started will be lost. You'll still be able to re-download those games as normal after the System Transfer is complete, but you just won't have the save data for any such games that don't have the save data on the Wii System Memory.

Another important thing to note, some previously available online services for downloadable content for certain Wii games, such as the Guitar Hero franchise and The Beatles: Rock Band are no longer available, and as such, content for these games cannot be re-downloaded after the System Transfer.

I share your pain, I have the same problem with this. I have a 42" TV and it's extremely hard to read. It's eye strain that's unnecessary. I really hope they can hear us and patch it.
