Oh I forgot to mention this. I also pressed the rectangle pretty hard to see if that did anything a few times,  so along with touching and rubbing the NFC with my fingers, can pressing the rectangle...

You shouldn't damage the square NFC sensor because the chip that reads that data is stored inside the gamepad under the square shape. So it should do no harm unless you punch it hard. So, you're good.

I'm not completely sure if the sound comes from the speakers or if it is actually the TV doing its noises since it is right above te Wii U. I'm going to try with another TV to see what happens.

Like I said, the buttons "feeling" different or sounding different isn't a defect. If they just aren't working, you'd have to contact Nintendo for a repair, as far as I know with similar issues on 3DS...

No. However, if a Wii U eShop version of the title was released, you can qualify for a discount on the Wii U version of a Virtual Console title.
