I dont think it is a problem, it may be just a defualt thing with the current operating system. All it is doing is checking for a disc. I dont have a wii u but thats just my guess, my wii original does it along with my xbox 360 elite. Normally i dont keep a disc in but it does seem to be a fairly common thing. I wouldnt be too concerned unless it starts grinding, in that case, it would need to be repaired.
