This might be a little risky, but have you tried pressing the eject button? (Hopefully there isn't anything stuck in there, but I doubt there is!)
But for the most part, if the system just did it on it's own one day, if you tell them that you possibly might get a discount since it wasn't your fault. But if it's not going to get any cheaper for a repair, you're just going to have to settle for it. Best of luck!
