There are small scratch lines that run perpendicular to the normal vertical one.

Hmm...perhaps it's my eyes or the lighting on the picture then as to why I see nothing. Anyways, while I haven't heard of any such issue before, if it's not causing you problems during gameplay, then it's likely nothing more than a cosmetic blemish. You shouldn't have anything to worry about.
